LISVANE OLD SCHOOL COMMUNITY CENTRE
CAN YOU HELP?
Lisvane Old School Community Centre is a registered charity (no. 1156308) and is managed by 9 Trustees representing Lisvane Community Council, Lisvane Community Association and the wider community. Residents will have noticed the progress being made with the new building at Llwyn Y Pia Road/Heol Y Delyn and unlike Cardiff Hubs ours will be run by the community for the community.
The building is split over 2 floors with meeting rooms and a new main hall in addition to a new café area and is due to open to the public in February 2022.
Trustees are keen that the centre should be open 7 days a week and become a vibrant and welcoming community resource. Current funding makes it difficult to employ the number of staff that would ideally be needed so Trustees are wondering if residents might like to volunteer and become part of this exciting project.
We are specifically looking for help with:
- Café area (helping with teas/coffees etc)
- Admin (eg supporting bookings)
- Caretaking duties (opening and locking up)
- Cleaners
- Library work
The list is almost endless but nobody would be asked to become involved for periods longer than you would feel comfortable with and of course it’s a great way of meeting new friends.
